Leadfeeder, an online lead generation tool for B2B companies, today announces the successful closure of a €530k seed round led by Finnish investors Superhero Capital and Vendep. The Finnish startup is a Google Analytics Partner and the investment in Leadfeeder’s technology marks a wider global trend for investment in software that makes marketing and sales more data-driven.

The VC investment comes on the back of a record-breaking year in venture capital investment in the Nordics in 2015.

Background

Leadfeeder was launched in 2014. In 2015 Leadfeeder revenue grew by 300% and the company now has over 2,500 active monthly users and over 400 monthly-paying customers all over the world. Leadfeeder’s innovative approach to online lead generation has caught the public’s attention during the past 12 months and the tool has featured in notable publications like The Next Web, Computer Weekly and Kissmetrics.

Leadfeeder was founded by CEO Pekka Koskinen with other key employees from his previous startup company Snoobi. Snoobi is a popular web analytics tool in Finland which was acquired by Fonecta in 2012.

Of the problem Leadfeeder is addressing Koskinen said:

“Web analytics has been here for some time, but how salespeople use it is not understood well. During the last 5 years, web analytics has enabled marketing to evolve into marketing automation and remarketing, but similar development hasn’t happened on the sales side. Leadfeeder is plugging the gap between Google Analytics and sales.”

“Salespeople still have very little information about how their potential and existing customers behave online and our aim is to change that.”

“Now salespeople can get new sales leads and intelligence about existing customers on their website automatically to their email or CRM.”

What Leadfeeder will use the funding to?

  • Expand into new markets

  • Triple its workforce in Helsinki and remotely (Open positions)

  • Research and develop its next-generation analytics-based sales automation
