Leadfeeder Tracker: Next-Level IP Match Rate

The Impact of Recent Google Analytics Changes to Leadfeeder Customers

60-Second Summary

Leadfeeder identifies companies visiting your website using the Leadfeeder Tracker, a proprietary first-party script that delivers near real-time data and up to 30% higher match rates than legacy methods. Tracker boosts company match rates and delivers near real-time lead data while remaining quick to install and compliant.

  • Key takeaway: Install the Leadfeeder Tracker for the best company identification results. Optionally connect the GA Connector to send firmographic data into GA4 for enhanced reporting.

  • Standout strategies and tactics: Combine GA and Tracker for enriched datasets, leverage keyword data for intent-based outreach, and use hourly Tracker syncs for faster follow-up.

  • Real-world lessons / framework: Practical workflow — connect GA, add the Tracker script, migrate filters if present, then monitor hourly lead pushes to act on high-intent visitors.

  • Implementation notes: Installation is a brief script copy-and-paste (often <5 minutes), has no contract or GDPR impact, and support is available via Help Center, videos, chat or email for comparisons and help.

Leadfeeder identifies companies visiting your website using its own proprietary Tracker script and IP-to-company databases. No third-party analytics platform is required.

With the optional GA Connector, you can also send Leadfeeder's firmographic data (industry, company name) into GA4 to enhance your reporting and audience targeting

Leadfeeder Tracker and Google Analytics - The Lowdown

The Leadfeeder Tracker (formerly known as Booster) is now the primary and only method Leadfeeder uses to identify companies visiting your website. Since February 2020, Google Analytics has played no role in Leadfeeder's identification process.

All you need to do is install the Tracker script on your website. It takes under 5 minutes and starts identifying companies in near real-time.

Let me walk you through the basics of our Leadfeeder Tracker.

What is Leadfeeder Tracker?

The Leadfeeder Tracker is the engine behind Leadfeeder's company identification. It's a lightweight JavaScript snippet you place on your website that captures visitor data and matches it against our proprietary databases. Here are its key advantages:

Company Match Rate

Leadfeeder Tracker yields up to 30% more company matches as it now pulls from our own custom-built database.

Our database, developed over the past years, is built on top of our machine learning leveraging data from several sources. This combination offers a completely new level of data quality.

Real-Time Data

Timely follow-up with leads after they show intent is a competitive advantage. Our goal has always been to move to real-time data.

With Google Analytics, this was not possible due to only two data syncs per day.

Now, with Leadfeeder Tracker, we push new leads into your Leadfeeder account 24 times per day (once per hour).

Leadfeeder is also able to offer real-time reporting. 🎊

This tracking script, also known as a tracking tag or pixel, simply needs to be copied to the website.

If you are yet to sign up for a Leadfeeder trial, you can easily install Leadfeeder Tracker upon creating your account.

For existing Leadfeeder users, here are some simple instructions on how to make sure you have Leadfeeder Tracker in place.

How to Install Leadfeeder Tracker

Step 1:

Please log in to Leadfeeder

⛔ Red banner =  no tracker installed, you will need to install Leadfeeder Tracker  ⛔

✅ No red banner = you already have the Leadfeeder Tracker on your website and don’t need to do anything further.

Step 2 (If you need to install Leadfeeder Tracker):

You can find detailed instructions with screenshots in our Help Center article, but I’ve also outlined the steps below.

  1. Click here to go to Leadfeeder Tracker settings.

  2. Alternatively, click on “Your Settings” in the top right corner of your Leadfeeder app, go to the “Company” tab and click on “Leadfeeder Tracker” on the left side menu.

  3. Copy the script and add it to your website.

  4. After a few hours, you will start to see today’s lead data in your account.

The same tracking script can be used for all websites/domains that are under the same company in Leadfeeder.

We have created some quick videos about how to add the script.

You can set up filters directly in Leadfeeder to focus on the traffic that matters most to your team. If you need a helping hand, don’t hesitate to contact our chat or email support.

Don’t have access to installing scripts on your website?

Typically someone on the marketing team will have the required access to install the update, which will take no longer than 5 minutes.

Aside from having to install an extra script on your website, which only takes a few minutes to complete, nothing else changes.

Installation of Leadfeeder Tracker has no impact on your contract, terms or GDPR Compliance.

We are excited to get you up and running, recognizing up to 30% more company leads!

All the very best,

The Leadfeeder team
